Lyon to host reception before Jan. 3 game at ASU Lyon College will host a reception prior to the Lyon-Arkansas State University basketball game in Jonesboro on Jan. 3. The Scots will take on the Indians at the ASU Convocation Center at 7:05 p.m. Before the game, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., there will be a gathering for Scots fans and members of the Lyon community – students, parents, alumni, friends, faculty and staff – in Meeting Room A (lower red entrance) of the Convocation Center. Hosts at the reception will be Mike and Linda Byrd, Bill and Mary Bristow, Ben and Dixie Owens and Dr. Shane Smith, all of Jonesboro. Complimentary tickets to the game will be available at the reception. If you plan to attend the reception, please RSVP to the message phone at (870) 698-4240 or e-mail krush@lyon.edu. Those who can’t make it to the game can still support the Scots by listening to Batesville radio station SKY 99.5 FM. Mark Lamberth will be announcing the game live from the Convocation Center. As the calendar year-end approaches, naturally your attention turns to giving gifts. If you would like to include Lyon College in your charitable contributions for 2004, please make sure your gift is dated on or before December 31. Ordinarily, on-line giving is an option through the secure server on Lyon’s website, but our computer system will be inaccessible due to upgrades during the holidays, from December 23 through the 31. You can mail your gift to Lyon College, PO Box 2317, Batesville, AR 72503-2317 or if you have questions or need additional assistance, feel free to call any of our advancement officers: Tim Bruner, (870) 612-2644, JoAnne Wilkes, (870) 793-1775, Gina Garrett, (870) 698-4624, Claudia Marsh, (870) 793-1767.
