Exams must be taken during the four-day exam period. Instructors may schedule an exam at a exam period different from the one assigned above so long he or she does not create a conflict for students with other scheduled exams. Instructors may also allow students to self-schedule their own exam during the exam period, and they may extend the exam time up to a maximum of three hours. Instructors are responsible for providing students with clear and specific instructions covering any variation from the published schedule above. The Dean of the Faculty must approve any exceptions to this policy.
In accordance with the Honor Code, a student may not say anything about an exam he or she has taken until the conclusion of the exam week (that is, until the posted end time of the final exam period of the week). During that time, a student may not comment on an exam he or she has taken to any other student, including those not in the class in question. The only appropriate remarks of a student who has taken the exam would be, “Yes, I have taken the exam.”
Any student who has three exams on one day may request permission from the Dean of the Faculty to have one exam moved to another time. (Forms are available in the Registrar’s Office)
