Anthropology--Your Past, Present, and Future
Anthropology is the study of what makes us human. The discipline of anthropology spans the social sciences, the humanities and the hard sciences in search of what it means to be human and live within a culture. There are four subfields in anthropology: biological anthropology, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and anthropological linguistics. Lyon College offers a Minor in Anthropology.

Anthropology and a liberal arts education are a perfect fit. One of the primary results of a Lyon College education is a deeper appreciation and understanding of human experience. Graduates are equipped to serve others in fulfilling vocations, making mature and reflective moral and religious commitments, and as a result, leading richer and fuller lives. Understanding how our lives and our culture fits within the larger tapestry of a multicultural society and a world which seems to be growing smaller every day is the goal of anthropology.
