The Second Annual Celtic Poetry Contest |
The Arkansas Scottish Festival will once again sponsor a
poetry contest. There is no fee to enter. Poems may be any style,
and any length, but MUST have a Celtic (Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Briton,
Galician, etc.) theme. Poems will be judged by nationally prominent poet
and Lyon College Writer-in-Residence, Andrea Hollander. The winning poem
will be read (by the author if possible) during the Celtic Concert on the Friday
night of the festival. The author need not be present at the festival to
win.
First Prize - $100
Second Prize - $50 Third Prize - $25
Beginning with ASF 2014, the judge for the poetry contest will be the
winner from the previous year
Please submit your poem in the body of an e-mail to james.bell@lyon.edu . Include the words POETRY ENTRY in the subject line. Entry deadline is March 31, 2013.
