The Greek system at Lyon College serves approximately 500 students and includes five national Greek organizations.  There are 3 fraternities and 2 sororities.

 

Lyon’s Fraternal and Panhellenic councils differ from the vast majority of Greek systems at campuses nationwide.  Lyon College maintains a "closed" bidding system rather than an "open" bidding system.  In a closed bidding system, students interested in becoming a member of a Greek organization must wait until their second semester at Lyon College, have at least 12 Lyon credits, and must earn & maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to join a fraternity or 2.5 to join a sorority.

 

Participants in Greek life at Lyon are involved in numerous social networking and service-oriented activities throughout their academic careers.
